In Feb I had to sample a few international delicacies on CBS ...
... but at the last minute I blindfolded the weather man and asked him to guess what he was eating! Fried grasshoppers, boiled ant eggs, roasted rattle snake and ... raw haggis! 
• Put a Golf Ball Across Scotland for NBC
 The Amazing Phil Keoghan (from the Amazing Race) asked me to accompany him in June hitting a golf ball across the whole of Scotland - a 5 day ordeal through rain ...

.... but I met him for a drink half way and waited for him in St Andrews!  
• Ride a Mechanical Bull in the Kilt for MSN
Chivas thought this would be an interesting clip for their MSN series ...

...but  I re-wrote the script to become the 'Bull Whisperer' instead and got to watch the beautiful barmaid get thrown while I calmed the beast by whispering 'teriaki' in its ear!

• Climb a Cliff in California
Another clip for MSN was supposed to have me free climbing a 100 foot face. I walked up the easy side and had a whisky as I waited for their arrival! 'What took you so long?'

• Put on a Marilyn Wig and pose with the Lighting Guy 
After an interview for the Beverage Journal, they asked me to put on a Marilyn Wig for a 'skirt blown up' photo shoot. 
I thought it would be funnier to get the face of the poor lighting guy who had to aim the fan up my kilt! The photographer agreed and this shot made the front cover!

• Teach a Parrot to play the Bagpipes! 
A Brazilian Bird of Paradise asked me if I would teach her how to play the bagpipes ... and that is exactly what I did!

• Join a Yacht Club with no Boats
The famous Kelly Square Yacht Club (no boats!) made me their unofficial Admiral and showed me their ship ... ... and  I showed 'Commodore Allie Bombz' how to christen it by sabering a bottle bubbly!

• Fight a Duel

A friend from my fencing group slandered me in public and I had to fight for my honour. He wanted pistols, but I beat him with the sword! More on fencing 

• Become a World Curling Champion
My Italian neighbours and I challenged the Scottish Olympic squad to a game of Curling (Scocce) and crushed them using an old Scottish curling trick (read more here!) 		• Eighteenth Century Dancing 
I was asked to play period music for a ball in Mass. Here is our marvellous band with fiddle, flut and my fidolla! More on Colonial Music

 

• Bagpiper to the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts Accepted and Freemasons • Dance with the Captain's wife
I was the MC for the army ball introducing Otis Day! Here I am dancing with the General's jacket, Major's Stetson, and the Captain's Wife! 
 • Play the Bagpipes at Fenway!
